This Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine, manufactured in 1875, is a well-preserved example of one of the most historic lever-action rifles of the 19th century. Chambered in .44 Henry Rimfire, this carbine features a 20-inch barrel, a design favored for its compact size and quick handling. The rifle remains in very good condition for its age, retaining its original brass receiver, which still holds its classic warm patina. The barrel and magazine tube were originally blued, but now exhibit a naturally aged, worn finish. The bore has pitting throughout but retains strong rifling, indicative of its continued preservation. The walnut stock shows honest handling marks throughout, consistent with its age and use. There is a crack underneath the forearm, but the stock remains solid. All major blemishes have been documented in the provided photos.
